Supporting Solhea’s transition to Figma and creating a unified design system for an e-commerce website and management platform.
OVERVIEW
Eminflex’s digital ecosystem consisted of two connected products: a customer-facing e-commerce website and an internal platform used by store managers. The project involved redesigning both experiences while creating a shared design foundation that could support the team’s new Figma-based workflow.
CONTEXT & CHALLENGE
At the beginning of the project, the design team was working on a different platform and had not yet established a shared workflow in Figma. Moving to a new tool required more than transferring screens: the team needed a clear file structure, reusable components and a consistent foundation for future design work.
At the same time, the customer-facing website and the internal management platform had different functional requirements. The challenge was to create a unified system that could support both experiences without making them feel identical.
MY ROLE
I supported and implemented the team’s transition to Figma and created the design system used throughout the project. I defined the visual foundations, built reusable components and applied the system while redesigning Eminflex’s e-commerce website and store management platform.
The transition to Figma was an opportunity to establish a more structured design workflow rather than simply recreating the existing files in a new tool. I helped organize the Figma environment, define shared styles and build reusable components that could be used consistently across the project.
BUILDING THE DESIGN SYSTEM
I structured the design system using the Atomic Design methodology, beginning with shared foundations such as color, typography, radius, spacing, elevation, and grid. These foundations informed basic UI elements, which were gradually combined into reusable components, interface sections, templates, and complete pages. This approach helped maintain consistency across both the e-commerce website and the management platform while allowing each product to respond to its own functional needs.

E-COMMERCE EXPERIENCE
For the customer-facing website, I applied the shared design system to create a clearer and more consistent shopping experience. The interface was structured around product discovery, information hierarchy and recognizable action patterns across key pages.

MANAGEMENT PLATFORM
The management platform required a denser and more task-oriented interface. I extended the design system with reusable patterns for tables, forms, filters, statuses and operational actions, while maintaining the same visual foundation as the customer-facing website.

Reflection
This project showed me that adopting a new design tool is not only a technical transition. For the change to be useful, the team also needs a shared structure, clear component logic and consistent working practices. Building the system while applying it to two different products helped me understand how design systems connect individual interface decisions with wider team workflows.
